Wrigley Field, Chicago Cubs CoasterScapes

CoasterScapes are a great way to show your love for your favorite stadiums !

First called Weeghman Park - home of the Chicago Whales when it opened in 1914, Wrigley Field has been home to the Chicago Cubs since 1916.  The stadium ranks #2 in the list of stadiums dubbed National Historic Landmarks.  Cub Fans have a love for the stadiums unique features and our coasters highlight many of them!. 

Constructed in the "Jewel Box" style with convex field walls due to Chicago's famed cross winds, the  stadium was constructed with a "basket" of chain link fence to keep bleacher seat fans from falling into the outfield.  Another unique feature is the ivy that covers the outfield was and provides cushion from outfielder injury,  The basket and the ivy even have specific game rules, should a ball land in either.  Another historical feature is the hand-turned scoreboard - one of the few left in the country, positioned over the Centerfield bleachers.
